GREGORY, Gordon A. "Demps"
February 11, 1932 – June 12, 2014
Mr. Gordon "Demps" Gregory of High River, Alberta passed away peacefully surrounded by his family at the High River Hospital on June 12, 2014 at the age of 82 years. Demps is survived by his loving wife Betty; children, Don, Lonnie (Ron Harty), Karen, David (Julie Allan), Gary (Lisa); grandchildren, Kelsey, Shea (Jessica), Carlee (Craig), Gordie (Jodi), Jessica, Tanis, Baylee and Cleo; great- grandchildren, Arianna, Zachary, Paige and Donovan, as well as siblings and their families. He was predeceased by his parents, Fred and Carrie-Ellen, and siblings. Gordon "Demps" Gregory was born in Charlottetown, P.E.I. in 1932 and moved to Alberta in 1952, where he joined the Air Force in Claresholm, AB and met his beloved and devoted wife, Betty of 61 years. Gordon's pride and joy was his family and his passions were breeding and raising standard bred horses, boxing and hockey. He retired as Vice President and General Manager of Yellow Cabs and started Red Top Cabs in Calgary, AB. Two years after Gordon retired in 1990, they moved to Meridian Farms near High River, AB, where he enjoyed time with his family and continued breeding and raising some of the top winning horses in the harness racing industry. A Celebration of Demp's Life will be held on Thursday, June 19 at 1:00 p.m. at the High River Alliance Church (1318 – 9th Ave SE).
