Robert "Bob" William Armstrong, beloved husband of Margaret "Peggy" of Calgary, passed away on Saturday, December 7, 2013 at the age of 89 years. Bob joined the British Merchant Navy as a Naval officer during WWII in England. After coming to Canada in 1948, he enlisted and served in the Canadian Armed Forces in the RCEME Corp, which took him to many parts of the world, including Egypt, Korea, Cypress and Europe. He earned thirteen military medals during his military career. He and Peggy travelled extensively in their earlier years until his health declined. Bob retired from the Royal Bank in 1980. He was always interested in change and new experiences. Our Dad and Grandpa will always be remembered as a person who lived life to the fullest. Besides his loving wife Peggy, Bob is survived by daughter Patricia Mulley (Bill); granddaughters Shelda Fowler (Rick) and Leslie Erdahl (Justin); four great- grandsons, Justin, Chad, Jordon and Trevor; extended family, Ricky, Jenessa and Chaz Fowler; as well as family members in Britain. He was predeceased by his mother Elsie Winterbottom; father John Armstrong; and sisters May Wogan and Marion Bromley. Funeral Services will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY'S Fish Creek Chapel (14441 Bannister Road S.E.) on Monday, December 16, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. Forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
