Don departed this world to join his wife, Ruth (nee Kaupp) and brother Bob on Saturday, November 30, 2013 at the age of 92 years. He joined the navy during WWII and was assigned to the crew of HMCS Shediac K110, a "Flower" class corvette. Don and Ruth were married in New Dayton, Alberta in 1946. He was a member of the 14 Old Time Salesmen, Legion 264 in Kensington and A.C.T./UCT. Don was a native Calgarian, who in his later years volunteered as Santa for various Calgary organizations. A Private Family Service with Interment at Eden Brook Memorial Gardens will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, memorial tributes may be made to the Calgary Poppy Fund and Veterans Food Bank (http://calgarypoppyfund.com).
