Harvey Holloway Obituary
Harvey Glyn Holloway passed away at the Skyline Nursing Home in Canon City, CO on May 18, 2013. He was born October 29, 1923 at home on Glade Park, later moving to town where he graduated from Grand Junction High School. "Glyn" was a loving husband and father who will be greatly missed by his family and friends. Glyn is survived by his wife Marie (Donna); they were married on Feb 19, 1943 and had just celebrated their 70th anniversary. He departed a few days after their marriage to serve his country during WWII in Europe receiving the Silver Star and later the Purple Heart during action in the Battle of the Bulge. Upon his return from the service he started a career in retail sales and managed stores for Gambles, eventually he and Marie owned their own store in Canon City. Following the sale of the store he worked in the DOC warehouse for 15 years before retiring to maintain and restore his Edsel car collection and other vintage cars. He loved to drive and show his cars in meets around the southwest. He loved camping, hunting, golf and enjoyed good times in the outdoors. Glyn was preceded in death by his parents Harvey William and Lavica (Martin) Holloway and his brother Dale. He is survived by wife Marie; sisters Betty Coy, Colton, OR and Nila Purcell, Winnemucca NV; and his brother Donn Holloway and wife Bonnie, Grand Junction, CO. Also survived by his daughter, Donna (Fred) Janisch, Dixon, CA; his son Jerry (Sheri), Littleton, CO; grandchildren, Kristin Janisch Hamm, Tyler (Jennifer) Janisch, Shana (Michael) Tamayo, Dawn (Dave) Mauger, and Troy (Brittany) Holloway; and great grandchildren, Greyson and Adisen Hamm, Cheyenne and Liam Janisch and Ethan and Tarynn Mauger. He loved them all and he will be very much missed by his family. No services are scheduled. Inurnment will be at Mountain Vale Memorial Park in Canon City.
