Ivan Coulter Obituary
Ivan was born April 3, 1926 to John and Marian (McCasland) Coulter in Broken Bow, Nebraska and passed away on July 29, 2014 in Colorado Springs, Colorado. He worked with his father, John during 1945 on a 320 acre grain and livestock farm in Ansley, Nebraska. He later joined the U.S. Army in 1946, was discharged in May of 1947 and then went on to work as a heavy equipment operator in construction until his retirement. Ivan loved boating, fishing, camping, hunting and his dogs, but most of all his family. He especially loved his grandchildren and their grandchildren. He had a nickname for each of his grandchildren and they called him "tickle grandpa" because he loved to tickle them. He is preceded in death by his wife, Lois, parents, three brothers, three great grandsons and one great-great grandson. Ivan is survived by six children; John (Aquina) of Canon City, James (Lana) of Colorado Springs, Wanda Glandon of Colorado Springs, Norman (Wilma) of Colorado Springs, Aimee Cannon of Colorado Springs and Mark of Canon City. He is also survived by his brother Phil (Barbara) Olathe, his sister Vera (Dave) of Brighton, numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. Memorial services for Ivan will be held Saturday, August 2, 2014 at 11:00am at Anchor Way Baptist Church - 3125 Virginia Ave, Colorado Springs. Inurnment will be at Lakeside Cemetery in Canon City at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please support your local Alzheimer's foundation.
