Of Canon City, Colorado was born February 14, 1962 and passed peacefully
on June 6, 2013.
Johnny was born in Florence, Colorado to parents John F. Tollis and Patricia A. (Janousek) Tollis. Johnny lived most of his life in the Arkansas Valley area. After graduating from Canon City High School in 1980, he attained a degree in Criminal Justice from PCC and Sociology at USC. Johnny went on to serve in the field of corrections for over 24 years.
Johnny was passionate of the outdoors and admired the wonders of nature. He was an avid history buff and especially WWII events. He absorbed trivial facts and was always ready for a challenge. Johnny had a keen sense of creativity and a brilliant sense of humor. He was extremely proud of his Italian heritage and loved a good old fashion spaghetti dinner. He was an avid sports fan and a connoisseur of fine music, especially Rock -n- Roll!
Johnny is survived by his beloved daughters Peyton and Ellie of Colorado Springs; parents, John F. Tollis Sr. and Patricia A. (Janousek) Tollis; sisters, Laura Lee and Melissa; brothers, Mark and Adam; loving companion of 27 years Mare Schmidt; niece Leslie and nephew Craig; and stepson Adam; all of Canon City.
Johnny was loved and adored by all of his family and friends. He was a fiercely loyal, generous and dedicated family Man who could always be counted on to
bring humor to any occasion.
We will deeply miss our Son, Brother, Father and Friend. We pray you may
find the peace you seek.
The family will arrange a private memorial service later in the month for Family and close friends.
