Theodore Mobley Obituary
Theodore (Ted) Michael Mobley, 67, of Florence, Colorado, went to be with the lord on June 20, 2013. In the company of his family after a long battle with cancer. Ted was born September 17, 1946, to Charles and Thelma Mobley, in Doniphan, Missouri and welcomed at home by his brother Jack and Sister Mae (Bailey). In 1968 Ted married his beloved wife Beulah (Ann) Bateman, in Bisbee, Arizona. He spent years on the road with the rodeo where he rode bare back, saddleback bronc, and was also a bull rider. Ted Served in the army and was a veteran of the Vietnam War. After his service time he served as a police officer for the Tempe, Arizona Police Department until he took position as chief for the Hotchkiss (CO) Police Department. Ted then spent nearly 25 years in the construction and drywall industry, Where he is most known for his dedication and success of the Florence Colorado branch of Murco Wall Products, Inc. Ted loved the great outdoors. He dreamed of being a mountain man, was an avid Fisherman, hunter, hiker, bird watcher, and photographer. He loved to Camp and be surrounded with all the wonder of the outdoors. He was an adventurous man who lived life to the fullest. Ted loved the rodeo, so much that when he turned 60, He tried his one last bull ride at the broken spoke. Ted is survived by Ann his Beloved wife of 45 years; Daughter, Michelle Miller, of Charlottesville, VA; Son, Shawn Mobley (Michelle), of La Junta, CO; Daughter, Melissa Tafoya (Mike), of Canon City, CO; and Daughter, Angela Mobley, of Florence CO. Grand children; Maria, Brandon (Megan), Trey, Natasha, William-Michael, Chandler, Katelyn, Michael, Matthew, Marc, Angelica, and Nathaniel; Mother, Thelma Mobley, and Sister Mae (Bailey) of Mesa Arizona. He was also survived by 7 nephews whom he held close to his heart and greatly loved. Ted is predeceased by his father Charles Mobley, brother Jack Mobley, brother-in-law Paul Bailey, grandchildren Alexis and Charles Mobley. Remembrance Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday July 9, 2013, at Church of the Nazarene, 416 W. 2nd Street, in Florence. With cake reception following.
