Edgar A. Crallie
Age 91, of Canton passed away Sunday in Mercy Medical Center following a brief illness. Born in Blackstone. Va., he had lived in the Canton area for the past 48 years and was U.S. Army veteran serving in World War II. He retired from Ace Ready Mix in 1989, was a member of St. Mary/ St. Benedict Catholic Parish and the American Legion Post #888.
He is survived by his wife, Lois Crallie of the home; sons, Michael (Nancy) Crallie of Phoenix, Ariz., John Crallie of Seattle, Wash., Chuck Crallie of Akron, Joe (Crystal) Crallie of Homeworth, Ohio, Frederick Crallie of Canton, Paul Crallie of Phoenix, Ariz., Dale Crallie of Phoenix, Ariz., Aaron Crallie of Durham, N.C., Frank (Jenny) Crallie of London England; daughters, Doni Harsh in Phoenix, Ariz., Tricia Green of Canton, Mollie Paknik of Canton; three step children, Angela Jacocks of Richmond Heights, Ohio, Gina (Al) Helcburger of Mentor, Ohio, Craig Jacocks of Euclid, Ohio; grandchildren, Ross, Brianna, Kyle, Courtney, Matthew, Mark, Jeremy, Jason, Joe Jr, Colton, Cassie, Chase, Roderick, Clinton, Angela, Dominick, Arista and several great-grandchildren.
Mass of Christian burial will be Saturday at 10 a.m. at St. Mary/St. Benedict Catholic Parish in St. Benedict Church with Fr. Benson Opkara as celebrant. Friends may call Friday evening from 7 to 9 p.m. in the Wackerly Funeral Home. Edgar Crallie's God-given love of gardening was a blessing to his family and friends. His wit and wisdom on topics from economics to electronics was welcomed by all who knew him. He enjoyed sharing his expertise and technical know-how with his children and grandchildren.
