'Together Again'
Edward D. Davis
age 94, formerly of Canton passed away Monday, May 20, 2013 in North Canton at St. Luke's Lutheran Home. He was born Nov. 10, 1918 in Derwent, Ohio and resided in Canton since 1926, attended McKinley High School and served in the US Army during World War II. Ed was a retired fireman, retiring in 1973 with 26 years of service with the Canton Fire Department. He also retired in 1982 from Reed Funeral Home with 23 years of service. He was a member of Market Heights United Church of Christ, AARP and the Retired Police and Fire Retirees. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mildred E. Davis; his parents, Howard C. and Mary Davis; two brothers, Willard and Howard "Howdy" Davis and a sister, Madeline Archer.
Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Diane and J. Richard Kay of Uniontown; a son and daughter-in-law, Doug and JoAnne Davis of Massillon; four grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren as well as several nieces and nephews.
A Cemetery Committal Service will be held Thursday, May 23, 2013 at 11 a.m. at the Chapel of Sunset Hills Burial Park (5001 Everhard Rd. NW, Canton) with Military Honors. Calling hours will be Wednesday from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Reed Funeral Home CANTON Chapel (705 Raff Rd. SW) with The Last Alarm Service at 5:45 p.m. Final interment will be in Sunset Hills Burial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are suggested to the .
