Elon "Ed" Bley
age 88, of Perry Heights went Home to be with His Lord on Wednesday, Feb. 5, 2014. He was born Nov. 25, 1925, in Buffalo, N.Y., to the late Elon and Meta Bley. Ed served his country in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was a member of St. Johns Lutheran Church in Massillon, the Perry Township Lions Club, and was a former member of the Perry Eagles. Ed retired from Diebold after many years of service. His family loved his talent of being "Mr. Fix-It" because he could fix, and sometimes invent, anything! Ed enjoyed fishing and loved his coffee!
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, James, and his sisters, Melva and Miriam. Ed is survived by his wife, Bonnie; his children, Susan (Jack) Wickstrom, David Bley, and Amy Bley; stepchildren, Becky (Steve) Albert, Judy (Steve) Wright, Terri (Dave) St. Aubin, and Tammy (Bill) Noltemeyer; 23 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren; brothers, his twin, Lee Bley and Mel (Ginny) Bley; sister, Merle D'Arcangelo.
Ed, you are so loved and will be so missed. Thank you for being a part of our lives. Until we see you again, we love you bananas!
Services will be held Monday, Feb. 10, 2014 at 1 p.m. at he Reed Funeral Home, Canton Chapel with Pastor David St.Aubin officiating. Calling will be one hour prior to services. Burial will be at Sunset Hills Burial Park.
