Jerry A. Gussett
age 80 of Canton, passed away Tuesday evening in his home following an extended illness. A life resident of Canton, he was the son of the late Arthur and Helen (Born) Gussett and was a 1951 graduated of Lincoln High School. He was U.S. Army veteran serving proudly during the Korean Conflict and retired as a sales rep working for several area carpet companies. Jerry was a member of St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, the Eagles McKinley Lodge, the Canton McKinley High School Booster Club and was a 60 year McKinley season ticket holder in both football and basketball.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his daughter, Pamela Benach who died in 2007. He is survived by his wife, Eustaquia 'Stuckey' (Gil) Gussett of the home; sons, Jerry Gussett of Canton, Nicholas Gussett of Canton; daughters, Tina Shondrick of Palm Springs, Calif., Helen (Bradley) Chapman of Denver, Colo.; grandchildren, April, Matthew, Nicole, Breanna, Ryan, Stefanie, Sarah, Britney, Michael; and nine great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday at 11:30 a.m. in St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church with Deacon David Conversino officiating. Burial with military honors will be in Calvary Cemetery.
