Jospeh Marzulli
passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 30, 2013 at Brewster Parke Nursing Home where he had been a resident for six years. Larry was a 1948 graduate of Akron St. Vincent High School, served in the Army, and was a Korean War Veteran. He obtained a B.S. in Education from Kent State University, Masters from the Ohio State University, and Doctorate from Rutgers University in New Jersey. He began his teaching career at the Junior High level in the Canton Local District, and taught Junior High and High School at Fairless Local. He taught at several universities, working the longest, 27 years, at the University of Toledo. He was interested in stamp collecting and organized the McKinley Stamp Club. He enjoyed traveling, spending time with his family, playing bingo, and attending sporting events in Toledo and at Akron St. Vincent St. Mary where he actively participated in stats for many years.
Larry is survived by former wife, Dauna Marzulli of Brewster; children, Lorraine Morgan of Canton, Thomas Marzulli of Barberton, Barbara Whitmore of Portmouth, Va., and Carol Glessner and son– in-law, John of Beach City; eleven grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
The family would like to extend special thanks to the staff at Brewster Parke and Mercy Hospice for their wonderful care. Cremation has taken place and a Memorial Service will be Saturday, July 6, 2013 at 3 p.m. at the Spidell Funeral Home in Brewster. Friends may call two hours prior to the service from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. at the funeral home on Saturday. In Lieu of flowers, one may make a donation to their favorite charity.
