Age 99 passed away on July 10, 2014, in Seattle, Washington. Born in Canton, Ohio, on April 11, 1915, she was a graduate of McKinley High School and The Ohio State University where she received a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration Degree and was one of the first women to pursue law courses while attending. During her attendance at Ohio State University she was privileged to interview the athlete Jesse Owens. She worked at both The Hoover Company in North Canton and Copperweld Company in Warren, Ohio, where she was residing when she met her husband of 60 years. Upon their return to Canton in 1960 she worked with her husband in their own hearing aid business and were members of The Perry Heights United Methodist Church in Massillon, Ohio. They moved to Seattle in retirement.
Preceded in death by her husband, Andrew C. Lamont, in 2002, she is survived by daughter and son-in-law Lenore and Dimitry Zissermann, grandson Andrew Zissermann and wife Katie, and grandson Nick Zissermann, all of Seattle; daughter Linda Stokes of Canal Fulton, granddaughters Lorna Stokes of Destin, Fla, and Lindsay Stokes of Cleveland, Ohio; niece Sally Rapp of Atlanta, Ga. Myrna was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters and brothers-in-law.
Her family is honored that Myrna was able to live a long and fulfilling life.
Services were private and were followed by cremation in Seattle, Washington.
