Richard S. Harden
age 63 of Canton, passed away early Wednesday morning at the Cleveland Clinic. Born in Independence, Mo. he was a Canton resident for the past 23 years. An Army veteran of the Vietnam War, he was a longtime employee with the Friel Construction Company. He enjoyed family vacations in the mountains of Colorado and the oceans of Myrtle Beach. Preceded in death by Ivan Harden, longtime friends Bruce Hillard and Bo Pryor and his beloved pets, Ozzy Harden and Ziggy Harden.
He is survived by his wife of 20 years, Debra (Morris) Harden; children, Jeff (La) Harden of Parker, Colo., Reese (Stevie) O'Neil of Hammond, Ind., Terra Dalton, Uriah Coffey, Brittany (Adam) Soltis, all of Canton; nine grandchildren, Gai (Simon) Tang, Som Harden, Reese O'Neil Jr, Daniel (Brittanie) Dalton, Brandon Dalton, Colten Dalton, Cody Dalton, Nathaniel Miku, Zander Soltis,; great-grandchildren, Symon, Scarlette, Makayla, Carter, parents Betty and Donald Berridge; sisters, Linda (Mary Ellen Bates) Harden, Debra (Craig) Sarensen, Maureen Harden, brothers Dave (Jo) Harden, Dale (Alena) Berridge; and many beloved nieces and nephews; close friends, Terry and Darcy Friel, Myra Pryor, Beverly Hillard and Tamm Shrum. The family would like to extend a special thanks to Tangela and Lee Hester for their loving care and concern.
Family and friends will be received on Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Rossi Funeral Home and Saturday from 10-11 a.m. with funeral services to follow at 11 a.m. Respecting Richard's wishes he is to be cremated.
