Sara-Jean 'Sally' Rauber-Way
76, of Massillon, passed away quietly on Tuesday morning, November 26, 2013. Born in Canton, a daughter to the late Harold R. 'Jake' and Dorothy (Yocum) Rauber, Sally grew up in Massillon, attended Massillon City Schools and graduated from Washington High School with the Class of 1955. She attended the Ohio State University and received her undergraduate degree in Education with a major in Art Education from Ashland University. Her career as an art teacher began in 1961 with Plain Local Schools and continued through 1991 when she retired from North Canton City Schools. Sally also taught an art history class at Malone College in the summers of 1969 and '70. She was of Methodist faith and had worshiped in the former Wesley United Methodist Church in Massillon which her father, Jake, had designed. Her professional and social memberships included OEA and NEA Retired Teachers, Phi Mu Sorority - Upsilon Chapter; she had served as an officer with the American Association of University Women, and had been a past treasurer with the Akron Unit of the Wally Byam Caravan Club International, as well as an associate member of the 14th Air Force Association.
Predeceased by her parents and former husband, Robert M. Way, Sally is survived by her dear sister, Suzanne I. (Glenn) Carter, of Ashland, OH; and a host of beloved nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and cousins.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m., Monday, December 2, 2013, at Atkinson Feucht Hare Funeral Home in Massillon. Friends and family may call at the funeral home one hour prior to the service, from 11-12:00 p.m. Rev. Brian S.
