Audrey Morrison Obituary

Audrey Morrison Dawn Morrison, 86, died peacefully on January 21, surrounded by her family. She was born and raised in the New Zealand countryside, and then later trained as a nurse in Dunedin, NZ where she met her future husband, Norman Morrison, a graduate student at the University of Otago. After they married in 1956, she and her young family came to the United States in 1960 and became a long-time resident of Baltimore's Roland Park, and a nursing supervisor at Keswick Multi-Care Center in Baltimore. An experienced hiker of the NZ Fiordlands, Girl Scout leader, church volunteer, and master horsewoman, she participated in many equestrian events with her children. She enjoyed nature and the outdoors, and was well known for her beautiful rose gardens, and her care for birds and animals. In 2004, she retired to the Village of Waugh Chapel in Gambrills to devote time to her family and friends. She is survived by her husband, Norman; her children, Anne, Helen, Carol and John; sons-in-law, Mark and Stanley; daughter-in-law, Karen; and 10 grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 3 to 5 p.m. on Sunday, January 26, at the family-owned Beall Funeral Home, 6512 NW Crain Hwy (Rte.3), Bowie. A service will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, January 27, at St. Stephens Episcopal Church, 1110 St. Stephens Church Rd., Crownsville.
