Barbara Jenkins

Barbara Ann Jenkins, 72, a 10-year resident of Gambrills and previously of Odenton, died February 9 at Baltimore Washington Medical Center after a brief illness. Born January 1, 1941 in Washington DC to the late Lloyd Poole and Mary Nally Poole, Barbara was a homemaker and member of St. Josephs Catholic Church. She enjoyed animals and collecting dolls. In addition to her parents, Barbara was preceded in death by her husband, James O. Jenkins Jr., who died in 1998. She is survived by four sons, Robert Jenkins Sr., Mark Jenkins, David Jenkins, and James Jenkins III; two daughters, Brenda Healy and Tammy Brown; brother, Leroy Poole; two sisters, Bertha Harich and Auleen Williams; eight grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. A memorial gathering will be held from 6 to 8 p.m., Tuesday February 12 at Hardesty Funeral Home, P.A., 851 Annapolis Rd., Gambrills. The funeral will be 11:30 a.m., Wednesday, February 13 in the Chapel at the Maryland Veterans Cemetery in Crownsville. Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
