JORDAN, CLARENCE SONNY, 89, a life-long resident of Arnold, died suddenly of a heart attack on October 28. Born on January 3, 1924 in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania he was the son of the late Clarence and Rose Jordan. He graduated from Annapolis High School in 1942. He enlisted in the Marine Corps in 1943 and was served three years in Iceland. After the war he took a job with the C&P Telephone Co. He worked for the Telephone Company thirty-nine years. He was active in the Pioneer Union. In 1949, he married the love of his life, Margaret B. Williams. He was a member of St. John the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church in Severna Park. Clarence was active in sports all his life. He played baseball, basketball and coached little league. In the 1960s, he helped start GARCI, a recreation organization for youngsters in Arnold. And he loved to walk the B&A Trail. He walked the Trail until the day of his death. After retirement he sold Christmas trees on his property every December for many years. He was a proficient farmer and avid outdoorsmen. He loved to hunt with his pack of beagle hounds. He is survived by his beloved wife of 65 years, Margaret Jordan, three children, Kenneth, William and Mary Jordan, and five grandchildren Jesse, Rachel, Sarah, Ryan, and Emily. He was preceded in death by 2 sons Michael and Edward Jordan. Friends may call on Monday from 6-8pm at the Hardesty Funeral Home P.A. 12 Ridgely Ave. Annapolis, MD. A Funeral Mass will be held at 9am on Tuesday November 5,2013 in the St. John Neumann Catholic Church 620 N. Bestgate Road Annapolis, MD 21401. Interment Maryland Veterans Cemetery Crownsville, MD.
