George O'Connell Obituary

George Patrick O'Connell of Gambrills, died April 13, in Annapolis. He was born on February 6, 1937 in Canada, and was the son of the late George and Emily (Donaldson) O'Connell. George moved to the United States from Canada in 1960. He was also a member of the Kentland Volunteer Fire Company. He was preceded in death by his brother, Emmett O'Connell. George is survived by his beloved wife Mildred O'Connell; two daughters, Kathy O'Connell and Patty O'Connell Adams; brother, Kevin O'Connell; five grandchildren, Joe Jarboe, Patrick O'Connell, Stephanie Jarboe, Laci Adams and Kody Adams; two great-grandchildren, Maddox and Samiya. A memorial gathering will be held from 2 to 3 p.m. on Saturday, April 20, at Donaldson Funeral Home & Crematory, P.A., 1411 Annapolis Rd., Odenton, where a memorial service will follow at 3 p.m. Interment services will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Arundel Volunteer Fire Department, 2380 Davidsonville Rd., Gambrills, MD 21054, or The American Lung Association National Headquarters,1301 Pennsylvania Ave., NW, Suite 800. Washington, DC 20004.

George took me in early on and treated me good. Got me a job painting (which I'm unfortunately still doing) but has paid the bills for which I am grateful. He was a good man, was always there when we needed a helping hand. Sad to see him go...
