OLSON, HELEN MARY LILLY KLEINSCHMIDT, 90, passed away on Monday, February 25, 2013. She was born on September 26, 1922 to Edward and Hilda Kleinschmidt, and raised in Indianapolis, Indiana. Helen married Victor Olson Jr., a WWII 17th Airborne paratrooper in 1949 in Indiana and over their 30 year marriage lived in many places, including Indiana, Kansas, Texas, Oklahoma, Louisiana, Maryland and Mississippi. The also had four children and fortunately for them, she was a stay at home mom. She was a very kind and generous woman, an excellent mother and great cook. She loved being a mother and grandmother, loved animals, enjoyed reading, gardening, playing scrabble, spending time with her grandchildren and taking vacations with her family. Helen was preceded in death by her husband, parents, brother and sister. Her survivors include her daughters, Cynthia Olson Manock, Ruth Olson Busch and Lisa Olson Belkofer; her son, Richard Olson; sons-in-law, Stephen Manock, Guy Busch and Bob Belkofer; and her three grandchildren, Hanna Busch, Joshua Busch and Laura Belkofer. There will be a viewing at Evan's Funeral Home in Bowie, MD from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, February 28. A service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, March 1, at Our Savior Lutheran Church, 13611 Laurel Bowie Rd., Laurel, MD 20708. Helen will be buried next to her husband in Concordia Cemetery in Indianapolis, Indiana.
