John Baratta

John Baratta John B. Baratta, of Fort Collins, Colorado died February 13, due to complications of pneumonia. He was born in New Jersey on February 22, 1932 to Anne and Phillip Baratta, and lived in Crofton from 1965 to 2009. John graduated from Dikinson College, served in the United States Army from 1956-1958, and worked for the Social Security Administration for 35 years. John was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Marcia Schmidt Baratta. He is survived by his son, Michael and daughter-in-law, Pacita, and four grandchildren, Malia, Jacob, Leilani and Nathan of Wellington, CO; sisters-in-law, Nancy Downum and Gretchen Roske, and nieces, Kim Egan, Cassandra Duncan and Christy Henry of Colorado. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday February 23, at Allnutt Funeral Home, 650 W. Drake Rd., Fort Collins, CO 80526. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations offered to Children's Hospital Colorado Foundation (childrenscoloradofoundation.org).
