Joy, you will be missed by so many. As a client of Robert Andrew Salon you always greeted me with such warmth, professional courtesy and that classy "English accent". Always a smile on your face and a welcoming greeting. Over the years I have had the honor to know you and share so many happy and sad moments. You never stopped smiling - such a beautiful gift. I can remember being an awkward kid/tween/teen going back east to visit family every couple of years. More often then not, there were not many other kids on our visit. Along our travels, at some point, my mom would say "We are going to visit Uncle Allen and Aunt Joy". This would result in a resounding "yeeeeeeeeessss!". Don't get me wrong I love my cousins, but Joy was the true prize. Her smile, her laugh, her amazing hugs... She always made me feel at home, like everything would be okay. I feel so blessed to have known her and loved her. My deepest sympathies to the rest of my family. I wish I could be with you all but please know I will be thinking of you and that I love you.

I worked with Joy for a long time and truly she was a rare gem...Beautiful in everyway! To Joy's Family - We are so sorry for your loss and wish you peace in the joyful memories of her. I met her just before her 21st birthday, a day after I came to America. She had arrived a few months before and was a very good, kind and generous friend to me. She and Al had just got engaged and together they set the standard for a wonderful loving and romantic relationship. Joy, so aptly names, touched everyone with her warmth, kindness, and beautiful smile - children were enchanted by her and were convinced she was the real Mary Poppins especially when she said "supercalafragalisticexpialadoshus." It has been an honor to share in a small part of her life, and our good wishes are with her family as you move forward.

I work with Jeanne, and we would often share updates with one another on our moms. I was truly saddened to hear of the passing of Mrs. Porter. Although I never met her, sharing stories with Jeanne made me feel like a friend of the family. I extend my deepest condolences to the Porter family. Bradley, Jeff and Family, I was notified today by my daughter Amy that your beautiful Mom has passed on. Jeff's posting on Facebook brought the sad news to us. Mary Kay Honeycutt and I had a long call this evening to discuss the wonderful years we remembered about Joy. We have known your parents since the 60's. Joy was such a pretty lady with poise and vitality. We use to visit one another with our children from our back doors. I will hold my memories of your family in my heart. When our three girls were little they loved their visits to your home. She was a special person that one holds dear forever.

Brad...I know we met years ago from our kids going to school when we lived in Piney Orchard. You always had a beautiful spirit and after looking at your pictures, I sit here emotional just knowing where you got your light from. Jeff and family,
Your Mother was a "Joy" to me and everyone she came in contact with. She had such a wit, I was always in stitches. Every day was a great day working with her.

It's no wonder her name was Joy! I had the absolute pleasure of spending my childhood as Joy's neighbor and in every memory she was spreading happiness. After all, it takes a special person to be okay with kids running through her beautiful flower gardens while playing flashlight tag. :)

Having Joy as my friend for over 37 yrs., I will never forget her & the SMILE she carried on her face @ each greeting. Living next door for over 19 yrs., our children grew up together. We are so very sorry for the loss of your mother, mother-in-law, sister, aunt, and Nanna. Joy was a ray of sunshine every time we saw her. Her beautiful smile, perfectly-styled red hair, and lovely British accent always made us feel welcome and as if we had known her all our lives. We will miss seeing her visit our friends/neighbors Brad, Danielle, Jake, Brooke, Jenna and Krista Porter. We wish much love and peace to all who were touched by her presence in their lives.
