ROPER, KEITH WALLACE, 84, our beloved father, grandfather, and friend passed away peacefully on February 16, 2014 at his home. Keith was born on April 6, 1929 in Baltimore, MD to the late Wallace J. Roper and Lila A. Ayler. Keith entered the USMC in April of 1946 and served in both WWII and the Korean War and survived the Battle at Chosin Reservoir. After the war, he entered the Baltimore City Police Department and obtained the rank of detective before retiring due to an injury after 20 years of service. Keith continued to work as chief of security at various organizations in Maryland until he retired in the early 1990's. Keith enjoyed coaching youth football and boating in his spare time. He moved to Florida and lived there for several years until returning to Maryland in 2006. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by three brothers Hugh, Bruce and Lee Roper. He is survived by his children; Craig Roper, Kim Schneider, Mark Roper, and Susan Neglia, 4 grandchildren, and 7 nieces and nephews. Friends may call on Thursday, February 20, from 7:00 to 9:00 PM at the Stallings Funeral Home, P.A. where funeral services will be held at 10:00AM on Friday.
