Maryalice Bassford

Maryalice Bassford, 88, a resident of Annapolis for nearly 70 years, died January 29, at her home after a lengthy illness. Mrs. Bassford was born in Washington, DC on May 7, 1924. She attended Holton Arms School and later became a homemaker. Maryalice studied music and enjoyed singing in the choir at First Presbyterian Church. She was a volunteer at the Anne Arundel Medical Center. Mrs. Bassford is survived by two sons: Robert Miles Bassford, of Annapolis, and William Allen Bassford, of Rockford, MI; three grandchildren; and two great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Bassford, to whom she was married for 54 years. A visitation will be held on Thursday January 31, between the hours of 6-8 p.m. at Lasting Tributes Cremation & Funeral Care, 814 Bestgate Rd., Annapolis, MD 21401. A memorial service will be held Friday February 1, at 11 a.m. at First Presbyterian Church, 171 Duke of Gloucester St., Annapolis. Burial will be private at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens.
