JONES, PRISCILLA JO, 69, U.S. Naval Academy assistant director of publications, died Dec. 10 after a 7-year battle with ovarian cancer. The daughter of the late Clarence Heberer and Marie Fultz Heberer, Jones was born Jan. 31, 1944, in N.C. and later moved to Belleville, IL, where she grew up. For many years Jones wrote the popular Green Hornets column in The Capital newspaper. She was also actively involved in the community, serving on the Board of Directors for Heart Smart, as president of the Maryland Capital Chapter of the American Business Women's Association, participating in Leadership Anne Arundel and receiving a TWIN award which honors Anne Arundel County women for their outstanding achievements in business and their positive impact in the community. She worked as a graphic designer and writer at the Naval Academy for 29 years and was responsible for many of the Academy's graduation, Plebe Summer, and other official publications. Jones earned a B.S. degree in marketing from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign, and received her M.A. in publications design from the University of Baltimore. In addition to being an avid reader and movie enthusiast, she had a wicked sense of humor, an amazing attention to detail and was an immensely caring and generous mother, grandmother and friend. Jones is survived by children Megan Campbell of Columbia and Dylan Jones of Severna Park; and stepchildren Deborah Krisko of Boston, Mass., Teresa Everett of Arnold, and Brian Jones of Annapolis. She was preceded in death by her former husband, O. Lloyd Jones. Jones has four grandchildren: Perrin and Andrew Krisko of Boston, Mass.; and Tyler and Jenna Campbell of Columbia. She is also survived by a brother, David Heberer of Texas. A private memorial service will be held Sunday, Jan. 26.
