Samuel Andrews Obituary

Samuel J. Andrews, 82, a resident of Millersville, formerly of Burtonsville, died January 2 at Baltimore Washington Medical Center.
He was born on January 18, 1929 in Roanoke, VA.
Mr. Andrews served in the US Army during WWII,
and during the Korean War, in the US Navy. He retired from the Naval Academy, in the Maintenance Dept. in 1995, after 20 years of service. He was a member of VFW Post 160, and American Legion Post 40 in Glen Burnie. He was also a member of Glen Burnie Moose. His hobbies included fishing, camping, and flower gardening.
He was preceded in death by a stepson, Richard M. Sewell. and several siblings.
Mr. Andrews is survived by his wife, Diann M. Andrews of 31 years; his sons, Richard, of Severn, William of WV, Robert D. of Severn, Timothy of Glen Burnie, and a stepson, Hiram Swell Jr. of Millersville. He is also survived by a daughter, Katherine Hines of Glen Burnie, and stepdaughter, Sherry Marie Bertrand of Linthicum; in addition to a sister, several grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Friends may call from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. on Saturday, January 5, at the Stallings Funeral Home, PA, where services will be held at 8 p.m. Interment at a later date, at Maryland VA Cemetery, Crownsville.
