Stephen Stickland Jr.

Stephen Strickland Jr., 82, of Gambrills, died Friday November 29 at Anne Arundel Medical Center. Steve was the son of the late Stephen and Florence Strickland of Goldsboro North Carolina. He was a decorated Army Veteran who spent thirty years in The United States Army Veterinary Service and traveled the world during his many years of service. He retired with the rank of Master Sergeant in 1979 following his last duty assignment at Fort Meade and maintained his home in Gambrills. Steve enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time with his granddaughter Brianna and other family members. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Peggy Strickland; daughter Susan Sanders; granddaughter, Brianna Sanders; and his son in-law Michael Sanders. Viewings will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. and from 6 to 8 p.m., Thursday, December 5 at Barranco and Sons, P.A. Severna Park Funeral Home located at 495 Ritchie Highway, Severna Park, where a memorial service will be held 11 a.m., Friday December 6. A reception will be held at his daughter's house in Arnold immediately following the memorial service. Interment will take place at Arlington National Cemetery at a future date.
