HARRIS, TIMOTHY H., 66, of Marstons Mills, MA, formerly of Annapolis, MD, passed away unexpectedly from a heart attack on March 29, 2014. He was the kind and loving husband of Elizabeth Crocker Harris for 29 years. Born August 7, 1947 in Stillwater, Oklahoma, Tim was the son of the late Uthene (Mercer) and Wade Harris of Perkins, OK. He was preceded in death by his brothers Donald and David Harris. A 1966 graduate of Bakersfield High School in California, Tim joined the United States Coast Guard in 1966. He served with US Coast Guard Squadron One, Division 12 DANANG, Vietnam; provided security for The America's Cup and 1984 Summer Olympics; and served as Executive Officer on French Frigate Shoals. Tim met Elizabeth while stationed at Group Woods Hole, MA and they married in Falmouth, MA in 1985. Military honors including the U.S. Coast Guard Achievement Medal, Navy Unit Commendation, Combat Action, and Republic of Vietnam Campaign Ribbon were awarded to Tim during his 24 years of service. After retiring from the Intelligence, Investigations, and Security Division of the Coast Guard at Headquarters in Washington, D.C., Tim worked with the National Reconnaissance Office from 1990-2004. During free time and retirement, Tim enjoyed sailing, clamming, fishing and time with his family. A love of animals was evident with his volunteering and fostering for the SPCA, bird watching, and caring for his own beloved cats, dogs and miniature donkeys. In addition to his loving wife Elizabeth, Tim will be fondly remembered by her children Coleen Sharpe and husband Bill, David Crocker and wife Martha. He is also survived by his children Andrew Harris and wife Tracey, Scott Harris and wife Stacey; and eight grandchildren Michael and Hailey Sharpe, Madeline and Abigail Gomez, Jeremy and Alexis Ketch, and Megan and Emma Harris. In lieu of flowers, gifts in memory of Tim's love of animals may be made to The Cape Cod Animal Care and Adoption Center MSPCA, 1577 Falmouth Rd., Centerville, MA 02632. A memorial service in celebration of Tim's life will be held at Osterville United Methodist Church, 57 Pond St, Osterville, MA at 11AM on Saturday, May 31, 2014. A private family service of interment will be held at the National Cemetery, Bourne, Cape Cod, MA.
