Walter Hicks Sr.


Walter Alexander Hicks, Sr., 45, of Annapolis, died November 10, at Northwest Hospital in Randallstown.
Walter was born May 6, 1967 in Emporia, VA to Carrie Hicks and the late Earl Wardell Hicks.
He graduated from Annapolis High School in 1985 and served three years in the U.S. Marine Corps (receiving a Good Conduct Medal, a Rifle Mark-manship Badge, a Meritorious Mast, a Sea Service Deployment Ribbon, and a Certificate of Appreciation). He worked for Service Masters before falling ill.
Walter was preceded in death by his father, Earl Wardell Hicks. He is survived by his mother, Carrie Lindsey and stepfather, Larry Lindsey, Sr. of Annapolis; three children, Ashley Hicks and Walter Hicks, Jr. of Odenton, and Tyshai Bailey of Emporia, VA; one grandchild, Walter Hicks, III of Odenton; two siblings, Tony Hicks, Sr., of Annapolis and Eric Hicks of New York, NY; and a host of step-siblings, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and dear friends.
A public viewing will be held on Friday, November 16, at 9:00 a.m. at Mount Olive AME Church, 2 Hicks Avenue, Annapolis, followed by a wake at 10:30 a.m. and funeral at 11:00 a.m.
