William J. Blaher died peacefully January 9 at his Kent Island home. Born in Annapolis 86 years ago, Bill joined the Army Air Corps at the end of WWII, and later had a long career in the Aerospace Industry, including Quality Control for the Lunar Modules in the Apollo Space Program. Bill was the eldest son of the late Joseph A. Blaher and Sylvia (Beall) Blaher. He also was predeceased by his brother, John Dale Taylor. He is survived by his beloved wife of 60 years, Elsie (Beatty) Blaher, originally of Baltimore; his sister, Patricia Miller of Palo Alto, CA; his brother, Harry Blaher of Concord, NC; his children, J. Andrew and Evynn (Rosenthal) Blaher of Woodbridge, VA., Michael and Linda (Schiarelli) Blaher of Salisbury, Pamela (Blaher) and Joseph Haxton of Cordova, Robert Blaher and Angel Myers of Mardela Springs, and Jeffrey Blaher of Greensboro; along with 19 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. A viewing will be held on Tuesday, January 14, at the Fellows Helfenbein & Newnam Funeral Home P.A. located at 106 Shamrock Rd, Chester, from noon to 1 PM, followed at 2 p.m. by gravesite honors at Eastern Shore Veterans Cemetery, 827 E.
