William A. Clemens Sr., 85, of Phoenixville, PA died January 18 in the Golden Living Center in Phoenixville. Born in Annapolis to the late Lee Frederick and Catherine (Wyrow) Clemens, Mr. Clemens served in the U.S. Marine Corps, the Merchant Marines, and the U.S. Coast Guard. He and his wife, Dana (Musterman) Clemens, both attended Annapolis High School in Annapolis, where he was class president all four years. He graduated from Bucknell University, where he was the president of the Kappa Sigma Fraternity. He was in the industrial rubber business for 50 years, retiring at age 80. Mr. Clemens was active with St. Ann Church in Phoenixville from 1965-1998, where he served as the president of the Home and School, captain of the Lector and Bingo Committee, and was president of the Holy Name Society. He was also a member of St. Basil's Catholic Church beginning in 1998. Mr. Clemens enjoyed hunting, camping and golfing and having a great time. In addition to his wife, Mr. Clemens is survived by five children, Jeanne C., wife of Peter Hamilton of Reading, PA, Jane L., wife of Martin Lintott of Charlestown, Susan A. Lally of Reading, PA, Patricia G. Seigel of St. Peters, PA and Drew Clemens and companion Lynne Schreiber of Annapolis; three siblings, Rita, wife of the late Ernest Staley of Salt Lake City, Utah, Kathryn Echard of Annapolis and Robert A. Clemens of Annapolis; eight grandchildren; one greatgranchild; and twenty-one nieces and nephews. Services were held Wednesday, January 23 in Phoenixville.
