William "Bill" L. Schaeffer, 74, a 5-year resident of Berkley Springs, WV, died October 18 at Winchester Medical Center in VA. Born in Pasadena on May 24, 1939 to the late Lavern G. and Mary Schaeffer, Mr. Schaeffer was raised in Pasadena and lived there until 1985 when he moved to NC. From NC he moved to Hartford Co. where he lived for 14 years prior to moving to WV. Mr. Schaeffer served in the U.S. Navy from 1957 until 1960. He worked as a heavy equipment operator for the Foys during the 1950's and 60's. His hobbies included hunting, fishing, being outdoors, and camping. In addition to his parents, Mr. Schaeffer is preceded in death by his sister, Mary June Mas and two grandchildren. He is survived by his son Kenny Schaeffer of Pasadena; three daughters, Janice Perry of AZ, Cathy Beckman of Winchester, VA, and Rose Hubbard of Davis, WV; brother, Doc Schaeffer of Baltimore; four sisters, Sandra Rose of VA, Pat Trader of VA, Nancy Harris of Pasadena, and Susan Heffner of Berkley Springs, WV; seven grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held Tuesday at Stallings Funeral Home, P.A.. Interment followed at Glen Haven Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made to the .
