William Tereniak
William Basil Tereniak, "Bill", 81, a 25-year resident of Annapolis, died May 20.
Born October 12, 1930 in Philadelphia, PA, Bill enlisted in the U.S. Air Force at age 17. He served as a Staff Sergeant for four years. Bill graduated from Penn State in 1958 with a Bachelors of Science in Mechanical Engineering and then moved to Annapolis to work for the Department of the Navy. He was an electrical engineer for 35 years at NASA Goddard Space Flight Center in Greenbelt.
Bill was a member of the St. John Neumann Catholic Church and enjoyed coaching little league, Indian Guides, working on home improvements, summer vacations in Avalon, NJ and spending time with his family.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Anna Tereniak, who died in April 2005; and two sisters, Mary Deedy and Anne Paytas.
Bill is survived by his son, William (Sheila) Tereniak of Cumming, GA; three daughters, Anne (Vernon) Hill of Severn, Teresa (Jeffrey) Wolfe of Centerville and Patricia (Kerry) Plummer of Crofton; brother, John Tereniak of Mortion, PA; and eight grandchildren.
Visitation is from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., Wednesday May 30 at the John M. Taylor Funeral Home, Inc., 147 Duke of Gloucester St., Annapolis. Funeral Mass is 10.30 a.m., Thursday, May 31 at St. John Neumann Catholic Church, 620 N. Bestgate Road, Annapolis. Interment Crownsville Maryland Veterans Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Hospice of the Chesapeake, 445 Defense Highway, Annapolis.
