CALVERT, RALPH DEAN, loving family-man, U.S. Marine Corps veteran, long-time Annapolitan and member of St. Anne's, passed away peacefully on January 3, 2013 surrounded by family. His integrity and industry reflected his ethics; he loved his God, family and country. Born in Maysville, KY in 1930, Mr. Calvert was the son of Ralph and Juanita Calvert. He studied architecture at University of Kentucky and earned a degree in business from University of Maryland. After graduating, he worked in a family business and as a mortgage broker in Maryland. He then became a real estate broker and worked in the Annapolis area for over 30 years. Mr. Calvert was a veteran of the Korean War and served in the United States Marine Corps, 3rd Battalion, 8th Marines, 2nd Marine Division from 1951-1954. Mr. Calvert leaves behind his wife, Florence Calvert; his sister, Bonnie Waggoner; three children, Patricia (Rick) Napolitano, Shannon (Tim) Jewell and John (Amy) Calvert; three step-children: Jaquelin Oliver (Peter) Dunn, Martha Oliver, and Robert Oliver; twelve grandchildren: Care (Eric) Nebbia, Richard Napolitano, Alison Napolitano, Cal Napolitano, Sarah Jewell, Ally Adams, Andrew Calvert, Anne Dunn, Elizabeth Dunn, Peter Dunn, Katherine Crater, and Lila Crater; one great grandchild, Cyrus Nebbia; his nieces and nephew, Mercedes (Peter) Young, Allison Waggoner and Joe (Stephanie) Waggoner; and four great nieces: Grace Young, Isabel Young, Jordon Greenlee, Ciera Waggoner. The family is very grateful to Jo's Angels and Hospice of the Chesapeake for their loving care and support.
