William "Bill" R. Lowery, 66, a lifetime resident of Annapolis, died February 23, surrounded by family at his home in Cape St. Claire. Bill was born January 11, 1947 in Annapolis to his late parents George and Evelyn Lowery. He graduated from Annapolis High School in 1965. Bill married his high school sweetheart Doris Mae Price in 1966. After high school, Bill voluntarily joined The Navy where he served for 6 years during The Vietnam War. After his service to his country, Bill worked at Safeway for 30 years. He retired from Safeway and volunteered at The Cape St. Claire Firehouse as an EMT while owning and operating a Snyder's Pretzel route in Anne Arundel County. He was a charter member of the Broadneck Elks, a member of the American Legion Post 175, and a member of the Annapolis Moose Club. In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death on July 12, 2011 by his oldest son, Kevin William Lowery. He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Doris Lowery; son, Kris Lowery; daughter, Kelly Lowery; daughter in-law, Jackie Lowery; grandson, Kristopher Lowery; granddaughter, Julia Robinson; and mother in-law, Doris Price. There will be visitation from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., Thursday February 28 at Barranco & Sons, P.A. Severna Park Funeral Home, 495 Ritchie Hwy, Severna Park. Funeral services will be held 10 a.m., Friday March 1 at the funeral home. Interment to follow at 11:30 a.m. at Maryland Veterans Cemetery in Crownsville.
