David Allen Borst, 56, of Churchton, died February 26 at Anne Arundel Medical Center after a lengthy illness. Born March 28, 1956 in Hartford, CT, David retired from the U.S. Navy in 1995 as an aircraft mechanic. In his spare time, he enjoyed bass fishing, collecting Star Trek memorabilia, playing mahjong and spending time with his grandchildren. He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Helen Borst; three children, Deborah (Steven) Gallagher, Amy (James) White,and Andrew Borst, all of Churchton; brother, Bruce Borst of Plattsburgh, NY; sister, Gail Dougela of Enfield, CT; two grandchildren, Brian and Joseph Gallagher; and his mother, Dorothy Borst of Enfield, CT. Friends are invited to David's Life Celebration from 10 a.m. until funeral ceremony begins at 12 p.m., Monday, March 4 at the George P. Kalas Funeral Home, 2973 Solomons Island Rd., Edgewater.
