Dennis Hayden McGinley Jr., 73, of Cape St. Claire, died March 19 at Anne Arundel Medical Center. Dennis was born and raised in Allentown, Pennsylvania. He graduated from Allentown Central Catholic High School and went on to receive his Bachelor's of Science degree in Engineering from Drexel, and his Master's in Business Administration from Loyola. He lived in Philadelphia and New Jersey before settling in Cape Saint Claire, where he resided for 41 years. Dennis worked in the aerospace industry and following retirement, he spent his winters in Indian Harbour Beach, FL. Mr. McGinley was an Air Force veteran, and a model train hobbyist who also enjoyed traveling, making home repairs, working on his cars, reading, doing puzzles, playing cards and watching sports. He was a runner during much of his adult life, and formerly ran with the Annapolis Striders. He also supported youth sports, and was a past member of the Cape St. Claire Recreation Council. Dennis is survived by his wife, Rita E. (nee Mulcahy) McGinley of Annapolis; sons, Dennis Hayden McGinley III and his wife Trish of Arnold, Andrew John McGinley and his wife Emily of Roanoke, VA, and Gary Michael McGinley of Denton; eight grandchildren, Anthony, Patty, Alex, Hayden, Patrick, Colin, Kevin, and Stella; his former daughters-in-law, Kate Garrett and Darlene Poole; and a host of extended family members and friends. Friends and family may visit from 4 to 7 p.m. on Sunday, March 24, and from 10 to 11 a.m. on Monday, March 25, with services to follow at 11 a.m., at Barranco & Sons, P.A. Severna Park Funeral Home.
