Calvin T. Holmes Sr., 61, a ten-year resident of Fellsmere, FL and formerly of Pasadena, died June 9 at Sebastian River Medical Center. He was born on April 20, 1952 in Annapolis, MD to Edna and the late Truman Holmes. Mr. Holmes, who was known by his friends in the fire department as "Rug-head", was a firefighter for Anne Arundel County for 27 years until his retirement in 2001. He was a Ravens fan and he enjoyed fishing. Mr. Holmes is survived by his wife of 41 years, JoAnne Holmes; son, Calvin Holmes Jr. of Fellsmere, FL; daughter, Michele Holmes of Sebastian, FL; mother, Edna Holmes of Pasadena; his mother-in-law, Mary Koppleman of Brooklyn; three siblings, David, Holmes, Claudette Stanley, and Brenda Booth, all of Pasadena; and granddaughter, Siearra Holmes of Fellsmere, FL. A funeral procession will depart from the funeral home 2 p.m., Wednesday, June 12, to go to St. Athanasius Catholic Church, where funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Interment private.
