Allan F. Stephens, 81, of Owings Mills, died Wednesday, Sept. 25, 2013, at the Seasons Hospice in Randallstown.
Born March 15, 1932, in Media, Pa., he was the son of the late Roderick and Clara Evans Stephens. He was the husband of Florence L. Stephens, his wife of 59 years.
He served with the Army
in Korea earning three Bronze Stars
as a combat infantryman. After the war, he joined the Baltimore City Police Department and retired with the rank of lieutenant.
Surviving, in addition to his wife, are daughters and their spouses, Karen and Bobby Brown, and Carol and Tom Crowell; grandchildren and their spouses Shannon and Chick Haines, Caitlin and Mike Klucker, Chris Bauer, Tom and Justine Bauer, and Laura Bauer; great-granddaughters Hannah and Colleen Haines; siblings Alice Campbell, Jean Foster, Nancy West and Nellie Pfannestil; and many relatives and friends.
He was predeceased by siblings William Stephens, Evelyn Ross and Ruth Jarmans.
The family will receive friends from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Eckhardt Funeral Chapel, P.A., 11605 Reisterstown Road, Owings Mills.
A service will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Interment will be in Garrison Forest Veterans Cemetery.
