Andrew Arthur "Mickey" Gallik Jr., 66, of Hanover, Pa., died Sunday, March 9, 2014, at home, following an extended illness.
Born July 3, 1947, in Baltimore, he was the son of the late Andrew A. Sr. and Dorothy Rose Greene Gallik. He was the husband of Lisa Baker Gallik, his wife of five years.
He served in the Army
in the military police. He was employed as a police officer
for the University of Maryland Baltimore County in 1971, retiring after more than 25 years. He then worked for Joseph A. Banks Clothiers, Inc. in security, retiring after 10 years.
He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Police. He enjoyed anything involving cars, including building, racing, restoring and customizing.
Surviving, in addition to his wife, are children and spouses Barbara Ann and Brian Kendall, of Largent, W.Va., and Daniel Craig and Andrea Gallik, of Hampstead; grandchildren Angela Gallik, Ryan and Colby Warner, Jordan and Christopher Kendall and Molly Gallik; a great-grandson, Conner Kendall; sisters and spouses JoAnn and Sam Tracy, of Arbutus, Karen and Kerry Witte, of Waynesburg, Pa., and Sharon and George Gudenius, of Hendersonville, Tenn.; and many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by a brother, Robert Gallik.
There will be no public visitation.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday in Pipe Creek Cemetery, 130 S. Clear Ridge Road, Union Bridge.
