Clarence Robert Grimes Jr., 59, of Sykesville, died unexpectedly Friday, April 11, 2014, in Woodbine.
Born July 16, 1954, in Baltimore, he was the son of Gloria Dawn Marriner Grimes, of Selbyville, Del., and the late Clarence Robert Grimes Sr.
He had worked as a civilian boiler plant manager at Dover Air Force Base, and had served in the Navy from 1972 to 1976. He enjoyed hunting, riding motorcycles and especially spending time with and taking care of his family and friends.
Surviving, in addition to his mother, are daughters and sons-in-law Jamie Mae and William A. Thomas, of Hanover, Pa., and Amber Dawn and Jonathan B. Mulieri, of Broadlands, Va.; brother and sister-in-law Frank E. and Brenda Grimes, of Woodbine; sister and brother-in-law Cindy and Jay Harmon, of Westminster; and grandchildren Tori Mae Thomas, Autumn Rose Thomas, Aleigha Mackenzie Mulieri, Jayden Micah Mulieri and Ava Liliana Mulieri.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Haight Funeral Home & Chapel, 6416 Sykesville Road, Sykesville.
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Interment will be private.
