Elmer Evans Cullison Jr., 85, of Hampstead, died Saturday, April 6, 2013, at Carroll Hospital Center.
Born Oct. 26, 1927, in Trenton, he was the son of the late Elmer Evans Cullison, Sr. and Sadie Elizabeth Cox Cullison. He was raised by Edward Poole and his wife, after his mother died when he was a baby. He was the husband of Elaine Zander Cullison, his wife of 62 years.
He served in the Army
during World War II
and was stationed in Okinawa. He formerly repaired TVs and radios from his home in Manchester. He had been an avid tenpin bowler in his early years and was also a big fisherman. He retired from Black & Decker after 37 years of employment. He enjoyed his cat, Punkin.
Surviving, in addition to his wife, are a daughter, Karen Abramczyk; grandchildren Crystal and Kevin Abramczyk; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins; and former son-in-law, James Abramczyk.
He was predeceased by a brother, William Marshall Cullison; and an infant sister, Sadie Marie Cullison.
The family will receive friends from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Eline Funeral Home, 934 S. Main St., Hampstead.
A funeral service will be held at 11 am. Thursday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Matthew Schenning officiating. Interment will be in Evergreen Memorial Gardens in Finksburg.
