Robert Wayne Martin, 50, of Union Bridge, died Tuesday, Feb. 19, 2013, at Carroll Hospital Center, after a brief illness.
Born Jan. 2, 1963, in Frederick, he was the son of Walter Elmore and Barbara Lee Warner Martin, of Walkersville. He was the husband of Le Ann Grinder Martin, with whom he would have celebrated 21 years of marriage in June.
He was a 1981 graduate of Francis Scott Key High School. He was employed with Walls And Ceilings, Cockeysville, for more than 25 years. He was a master tradesman in drywall, finishing, remodeling, and was known to be skilled in all kinds of handiwork.
He was a member of the VFW
Post 8806 in Union Bridge. He enjoyed crabbing and sitting at home having a beer and listening to bluegrass music. He was an avid Ravens fan.
Surviving, in addition to his parents and wife, are children Eric Wayne Grinder, of Glyndon, and Kayla Marie Martin, of Union Bridge; grandchildren Spencer, Griffin, Aulston and Zacorey; brothers Walter Lee Martin and Thomas Martin, both of Walkersville; sisters Crystal Logsdon, of Savannah, Ga., and Robin Martin, of Hickory, N.C.; several nieces and nephews; and a friend, James Wetzel, of Union Bridge.
He was predeceased by his mother-in-law and father-in-law Jo Ann and Kenneth Grinder.
The family will receive friends 6 to 9 p.m. today at Hartzler Funeral Home, 6 E. Broadway, Union Bridge, where the Rev. Richard L. Michael will lead a time of sharing remembrances at 7:30 p.m.
