Wilson Harry Blizzard Sr., 63, of Chincoteague, Va., formerly of Westminster, died early Thursday, Feb. 27, 2014, at home.
Born June 29, 1950, in Patapsco, he was the son of the late George and Clidine Wagner Blizzard. He was the husband of Mildred Fuhrman Blizzard, who died in 2005. He was the companion of Beatrice Plona.
He was a 1968 graduate of Westminster High School. He was a plumber and steam fitter for Local No. 486.
He was a member of the Westminster Moose, the Littlestown Eagles and a social member of the V.F.W
. in Chincoteague.
He was an avid golfer and fisherman and enjoyed sports, especially duckpin bowling, in which he participated in semi-professional tournaments.
Surviving, in addition to his companion, are daughter Tammy Brant; two sisters; four brothers; three granddaughters; numerous nieces, nephews; and other family members.
He was predeceased by a son, Wilson H. Blizzard Jr.; a grandson, Brandon Blizzard-Mayne; and three siblings.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Pritts Funeral Home & Chapel, 412 Washington Road, Westminster.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Mindy Coates officiating. Interment will follow at Evergreen Memorial Gardens in Finksburg.
