Jane Rich Norris February 25, 1929 - April 2, 2013 Jane Rich Norris, Janie to her many friends, died on April 2, 2013. She was born in Chicago on Feb. 25, 1929, to O. Kenneth and Georgia McAfee Rich. She attended public schools in Chicago and the University of Ilinois in Urbana-Champaign, where she was a member of the first graduating class of occupational therapists. She married Vincent Paul Norris on April 13, 1951. He survives along with their children Lindy (Bruce) Hild, of Stephens City, Va.; Michael (Patricia) Norris, of Laurel Springs, N.J.; Christopher (Romy) Norris, of Menges Mills, Pa.; and Cathleen (Sauro Lepri) Foderaro, of Terni, Italy; grandchildren Alexis, Sean, Zo', Rachel, Laurel, Dominique and Dylan; and great-grandchildren Zowie, Brodee and Eaven. One grandchild, Charlene, preceded her in death. Janie pursued her profession as an occupational therapist with Easter Seals Central Pennsylvania, and later took part-time employment in the Penn State University Bookstore and in the offices of attorney Tom Sterling. She also volunteered for many years at AAUW book sales. After her children were grown, she traveled extensively and made numerous trips to visit cousins in Iowa and her daughter Cathy in Italy. She loved to knit sweaters and other gifts for family and friends. She sang in the State College Choral Society in the days when Raymond Brown directed. She loved animals, with particular affection for cats. Services will be private at the convenience of the family. Memorials may be made to Americares, Food for the Poor, and the American Society for the Protection of Animals.
