Dr. Earl E. Aldinger, Jr. CHARLESTON - Dr. Aldinger died on May 8, 2014 at the Veteran's Administration Hospital in Charleston following a brief illness. A Charleston native, Earl, 84, was a son of the late Earl E. Aldinger and Beatrice Igoe Aldinger. He graduated from the College of Charleston and served as a flier in the U.S. Air Force. Earl later taught at Tulane University Medical School and the Medical University of South Carolina, where he earned an MA and PhD in Pharmacology. Known affectionately to his family as "Buddy" and to his many friends as "Dinger", Earl had a wonderfully-biting sense of humor and loved to fish and cook. Having lived in New Orleans, Red Beans and Rice were a hallmark. He is survived by a son, Scott Aldinger of Charlotte, NC; and by brothers, Charles, of Washington, DC, and Thomas, of Benicia, CA. A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, May 13, at St. Lawrence Cemetery. Visit our guestbook at www.legacy.com/obituaries/ charleston
