Ira "Gordon" Barrickman III McCORMICK, SC - Ira "Gordon" Barrickman, III (75) entered into eternal rest on Friday, August 8, 2014. He was born June 19, 1939 in Louisville, KY. Gordon served 4 years in the US Navy before entering the Coast Guard from which he retired in 1977. After his retirement, he moved his family back to Charleston, SC where he worked for Seabrook Island Corporation and the SC State Port Authority from which he retired. He was a volunteer with the Hunley Conservation Team where he enjoyed giving tours of the newly recovered submarine. During this time, he developed a keen interest in genealogy and he enjoyed spending many hours researching his heritage. Gordon was an avid bowler, golfer and enjoyed being on the water.
