Josephine Raso Paragano MT. PLEASANT - Mrs. Josephine Raso Paragano, 81, residence Mt. Pleasant, SC, formerly of Millburn and Mendham, NJ, entered into eternal rest on Sunday morning, March 10, 2013 surrounded by her family. The relatives and friends of Mrs. Josephine Paragano are invited to attend her Memorial Mass on Wednesday March 13, 2013 at eleven o'clock a.m. at St. Benedict Catholic Church, 950 Darrell Creek Trail, Mt. Pleasant, SC, 29466. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening, March 12, 2013 from five until seven o'clock p.m. at CAROLINA MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME. For their New Jersey relatives the family will be receiving friends for Mrs. Paragano's wake at Leonardis Funeral home in Florham Park, NJ on Thursday March 14, 2013 from three until five o'clock p.m. and seven until nine o'clock p.m. Funeral services will be held will be held Friday March 15, 2013 at eleven o'clock a.m. at Leonardis Funeral Home, entombment will follow at The Gates of Heaven Cemetery in East Hanover, NJ. Josepine was born April 1, 1931 in San Marco Italy to the late Domenico and Assunta Raso, but moved with her mother to America to meet up with her father in 1936. She is a graduate of Paterson Eastside High School Class of 1949. She was a stay at home mother for many years until rejoining the workforce in the early 70's working first for Phillip J. Cartwright Realtors in Short Hills, NJ. However, she will mostly be remembered for her long time employment in the Tax Collector's Office at Millburn Town Hall, in Millburn NJ. Upon her retirement, she spent her time doting over her grandchildren attending ball games and concerts. After her successful battle with breast cancer, she relocated to Mendham NJ for several years until heading south to Mt. Pleasant SC to live out her remaining days. She is survived by her sons: Vincent Paragano, his wife Kay, of Bernardsville, NJ and their children, Matthew and his wife Candice, Jennifer and Laura, Dominick Paragano and his wife Lisa, of Mendham NJ, and their children Dominick, Marisaa and Nazario, and Larry Paragano Jr. and his wife Mary and their children Ally, Joseph, Samantha and Mickey, of Mt. Pleasant, SC, a sister: Costobile (Gus) and his (predeceased) wife Jane. Loving Aunt for Jane and Don Salmon, Wendy Jo and Thomas Bruffy and Sue Ann Raso Maher. She is also survived by her longtime companion Kenneth Kraeuter of Springfield NJ and her care provider and family friend Lynne Vicary of Awendaw SC. Having a heart a mile wide, she will always be fondly remembered as the loving mother and grandmother that came to every event she could.
