Paul Ramsing, III WINNSBORO, SC - Paul "Chip" Ramsing, III, age 66, entered into rest suddenly in his home in Winnsboro, SC, March 23, 2013. Paul was born in Fairfield County November 16, 1946. He was the husband of Lisa Ramsing and the son of Jean Martin Ramsing and the late Paul Ramsing, Jr. Mr. Ramsing invested more than 35 years of his life in Law Enforcement as a Richland County Deputy Sheriff and a SC State Trooper. He was also a certified firefighter. Even after his retirement he continued what he loved by working with the SC State Troopers and the Jamestown Police Department. In addition to Lisa, his wife of 30 years, Mr. Ramsing is survived by a son, Jon-Paul Ramsing and his wife Whitney, of Georgetown; a daughter, Amanda R. Kirton and her husband Mike of Columbia; a sister, Blair Jacobsen and her husband Jake of Albuquerque, NM; and two grandchildren. Mr. Ramsing was predeceased by a sister, Betty Van Horn. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to SCLEAP, 2501 Heyward St., Columbia, SC 29205, an organization that provides critical incident stress management services and chaplaincy services to officers.
