Albert Conforti, age 93, a resident of Naperville, IL, formerly of Chicago, IL, died Monday, October 28, 2013 at his home. He was born February 1, 1920 in Chicago. Beloved husband of Jessie (nee Salerno) Conforti, loving father of Connie Morelli and Jeanette "Jan" (Carl) Gambino, adored grandfather of Christopher (Kim) Pakitsos, Anthony (Delisa) Morelli; Sheri (Stuart) Petersen, Nicholas (Staci) Gambino and Lisa (Tim) Ptak, cherished great-grandfather of Candice, Shana and Krystel Pakitsos; Nathan, Ashley and Michael Morelli; Gianna and Michael Petersen; Alexa and Cia Gambino; Anthony, Arianna and Joseph Ptak, devoted son of the late Frank and Concetta Conforti, dear brother of the late Nick, Ann, Sylvia, Victor, Joseph, Martha and Helen, fond uncle of many. Albert served with the U.S. Army's 1st Infantry Division "The Big Red One" during World War II and after the war continued to serve in the Army National Guard. Albert was employed by the City of Chicago Department of Streets & Sanitation for 30 years. Visitation Sunday, November 3, 2:00-8:00 P.M. at Friedrich-Jones Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 44 S. Mill St, Naperville. Services will begin Monday, November 4, 9:45 A.M. from the funeral home and will proceed to a 10:30 A.M. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, 1500 Brookdale Rd., Naperville. Interment: Mt. Carmel Cemetery, Hillside, IL.
